The original OtterBox product line of waterproof dry boxes underwent a major overhaul in 2012 and needed a packaging solution as sleek and articulate as the updated design. The primary goal for this packaging project was simplicity. A communication piece is printed on waterproof material to mimic the most important product attribute. Inspired by minimalistic design, this piece locks into place requiring little assembly while allowing the consumer complete product access. The branded wristband/hangtag was manufactured to serve as a multi-purpose marketing tool, serving double-duty as event schwag. Overall, this effortless design presents the brand in a thoughtful and premium way, yet allows the innovative form of the product to remain the key focus in retail.
